Strahan Vacation !

Finally, vacation ! ^^ Been waiting for this anxiously for such a long time now ! Garr, so I woke up at about 5.30am as we were to suppose to group up at the meeting spot at 6.30am ! It was still pitch dark but when the sun slowly rose up, the view was magnificent !

I don't know bout you guys but I just love the bluish and reddish/orange colour ! ^^

The clock struck 7am...

And off we go !!!

On the way to Strahan which took approximate 4.5 hours, there were lots of beautiful scenes of the natural state of Tasmania. Looks like farm lands or whatever you describe it but the place definitely looks peaceful and calm ! ^^

And this rocky mountain is so freaking cool !!! I so wish to climb it one day ! ^^

So we reached Strahan at about 12pm and made our way to our accommodation. We sort of got lost ( as there were lots of backpacking cabins ) but managed to find our accommodation at last. We had about 8 people per room with bunk beds of course ! I get to sleep at the bottom ! ^^

Henty Sand Dunes

This is one magnificent place that we went after unpacking our stuffs at our accommodation. It's like one big huge desert in the middle of nowhere !! We had to climb our way up a freaking sand hill to get to the top with the freaking slopes like freaking steep ! Wooops, why am I using the word 'freaking' so much ?-.- *shrugs*

Yeah, so I managed to climb my way up without rolling down the sand hill like a log. =P

then it was time to go to our next destination and we had to climb down that freaking steep slope again -.- garr, too bad we don't have some board to slide down =/

A great experience to remember. Too bad our footsteps wouldn't last for long !

Strahan Village

After spending a few hours at the sand dunes, we headed to Strahan Village. It used to be a very influenctial port for the west coast in the past but slowly lost its influence as bigger ports emerged. Strahan Village soon became a tourist spot and here we are as tourists ! ^^

There were nothing much to do there so while we were at the docks, cam whoring started again!

Yeah so after that, we headed down into the village looking for something to eat ! ^^
We came across....

Tasmanian Ice-Cream !!

It's so freaking delicious and it doesn't melt fast ! Maybe it's the weather or the special produced local milk they added. Plus it's soft ! Whatever it is, it's a secret recipe that's for sure !

We found a sea plane too ! So freaking cool =D I always wanted to fly my own plane one day...one day...=)

After spending bout an hour in the village, we headed off to a beach spot not far from Strahan Village. It was a bumpy journey due to the stupid rocky roads.

The beach was full with people fishing !! :O

From the talks with them, we learned that they were catching salmons and trouts. ^^

This man here was very friendly with us and he even kissed the salmon ! @_@
He told us a lot about the fishes and that he came here every weekend with his kids/grandsons.

Look how adorable they are ! ^^ Reminds me of my childhood life. =/

This boy was so shy at first but he's definitely cute that's for sure ! =)

And once again I heard another familiar sound....

VRRRROOOOMMM!!!

not again.... -.-

This time, these vehicles were driven by little kids !! T__T How unfair ! I'm so freaking old now and I never had the chance to drive such a vehicle before =(

While heading to our bus, we spotted a berry bush ! ^^ Never tried it though but hell it was tempting =/

We head back to our accommodation and clean ourself up for dinner. Dinner was fun as it was like a group of community eating and talking. Great fun that we can never experience much in life. =)

So after our dinner, there were some people who wanted to go fishing. It was dark by then and Jen cracked a joke bout fish sleeping etc or going to night school lol XD

Well we did not brought fishing rods so we sat like rocks. Soon we began to play with our cameras. Heh, once again pictures ! ^^

Gordon River Cruise

Now this is the main cuisine ! Woke up at about 7am and prepared to leave to Strahan Village.
Took a few pictures at the dock as we reached there early.

At 8.05am, we boarded the ship !!

Hells Gates

This location is extra special as it's the spot where the ocean waves will meet the calming river flow. The extraordinary thing is there's some sort of natural gateway at the location making it very special. A magnificent view of the crushing waves heading to a beach of calm water.

And there were salmon farms !! ^-^

And soon, we landed on a spot named Heritage Land in Gordon River.

Soon, we boarded the ship and head off to an island known as Sarah Island. It used to a place where convicts were sent to produce ships making it a renowned shipyard for the most production of quality ships made in Tasmania.

If you look properly, you'll noticed those long logs or woods. These were the base of the shipyard where they will launch the ready made ships into the water.

Sarah's Island was also known for its sufferings of the convicts that worked there. Many tried to escape but ended up lost in the forest or killed.

After boarding the ship, we headed to our final destination......

Listening to the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' songs definitely matched the surroundings I was in. Certainly sent me into some sort of wonderland !

This view seriously reminded me of Mount Olympus of Athens !

It's amazing how fast our vacation trip was coming to an end. =(

While heading back to Launceston, me and Jasper talked all the way back ! lol, it was great. When we talked about the Penang food especially 'char koay kak', our salivas were dripping out ! =P

Amazing mountain =) So beautiful.. Wonders of Nature.

And so it comes to an end... the end of the journey...

The trip is nothing now but beautiful memories to remember....
